Tightening value should be considered accordingly when setting the torque wrench; mount the reaction foot or lever on the multiplier, fix it with the screw and the required socket. Place the multiplier on the hexagon, rotating it by hand until the reaction foot or lever firmly stands on a wall/nut etc. Put the male square of the torque wrench into the female square of the multiplier and tighten as much as needed. As the force is accumulated inside is released, you should rotate the multiplier in the opposite direction. I have been using this excellent torque multiplier for a while now and have found it more than suitable for the wide range of jobs that I require it for. This unit gives you up to 2200lb/ft of torque output from a maximum input of 162lb/ft while using standard half inch drive tools. It also contains a planetary gearing system which means the end result is a torque accuracy of +/-5%.

The handle of the multiplier also serves as the reaction foot, so it is advisable that you have the handle positioned firmly against a solid enough object as you apply the torque, while the built in anti backlash allows you to maintain the input torque when using ratchet tools. And as long as have a solid grip of the input wrench, you should not get any kick back from this multiplier.

A word of note however, it is advised that you use heavy duty ratchets, and that you don’t use power ratchet tools with this multiplier in order to get the best results from it. If you are applying this torque to nuts or fasteners that require to be set to a specific angle of turn once the torque is applied, it has a very handy protractor built in to the head so you can align the nut or fastener to its proper angle without getting into any kind of difficulty.

Overall, I am very pleased with this item and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get hold of a decent torque multiplier.
